The Smart Coats crew did a great job not only painting the outside of the house and the back porch but also repairing all damaged wooden window and door frames. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was very reasonable.
After a particularly bad experience with the lowest bidder on our exterior painting job (shut down by the city for violating lead laws), Smart Coats came to the rescue. Ed worked everything out with the city to take over for the previous contractor and ensure that all regulations were followed. They did an amazing job removing many layers of old paint and re-painting our 1890 Victorian. I couldn’t recommend them more.
The advice we received was very useful. The wood prep work and the painting were high quality and done in a good time. The crew was friendly, courteous and very professional as well as meticulous. Good cleanup too. Highly satisfied.
A project well-done! You never quite know what’s going to happen when you begin a project like this but boy am I glad I hired the right people for the job. It turns out our existing roof was actually 4 roofs in one that were incorrectly installed one on top of the other. There were so many issues I wasn’t sure where to start. But Smart Coats took care of everything even though the project was more elaborate than we originally anticipated. They went to great lengths to make sure that the job was done correctly. These guys were great. The quality of their work is always good but what I appreciate most is the extra things they do. They were always looking out for guest safety and we had progress meetings daily. Anything I needed they made sure it happened ASAP no calling up some office that is closed and leaving a message that doesn’t get returned until the next week. No matter what the project is Smart Coats always finds away to come through for me. In fact they did such great work at least two of my neighbors have hired them based on the work they did for me.

The Smart Coats crew did a great job on our kitchen and both bathrooms. From the planning to the execution the project was completed on time and on budget. There’s always problems that happen on projects like this and of course we ran into a few but what really impressed me was how quickly the problems were solved and the fact that they were able to implement those solutions almost immediately in order to continue work uninterrupted.
